NICKI Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty has filed a request with a Californian court for access to the internet amid his legal woes.
Petty was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender after moving from New York to California with the Superbass rapper in 2019.
His legal issues arose when Beverly Hills police pulled him over for a traffic violation in November and discovered he hadn’t registered as a sex offender in California, and as a result, placed him under arrest.
Kenneth pleaded not guilty in a pretrial hearing and was released on a $20,000 bond along with a number of conditions.
These conditions included wearing an ankle monitor, having a curfew, remaining in Southern California and staying off the internet unless he’s been approved to do so by a supervisor.
According to TMZ, he has now filed court documents asking a judge to allow him access to the internet while he awaits his court date next month – and it appears he has been given the green light.
The publication said: “Prosecutors reportedly don’t have any problem with Petty’s recent request, so they’ve agreed to give him access.
“Everyone is just waiting for a judge’s signature.”
Previously, the Los Angeles County District Attorney charged him for failing to register as a sex offender.
According to court documents first obtained by TMZ, Kenneth was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in April 1995.
Both he and the victim were 16-years old at the time. Prosecutors claimed he used a sharp object in an attempt to force the girl to have sex with him.
He served just under four years in a New York prison for the crime. Kenneth faces up to 10 years in prison if he is convicted of failing to register as a sex offender.
Nicki has not yet publicly commented on her other half’s latest arrest.
The artist began to post pictures with Kenneth last year and soon after his criminal past was publicly revealed.
Fans slammed the star for being with a convicted sex offender.
She clapped back to the haters and defended her man: “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship.
“But go awf, internet. y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo.”

The couple reportedly applied for their marriage license at the Beverly Hills court house in July 2019.
Nicki and Kenneth were spotted in a line under a sign that read “marriage licenses and ceremony appointments only.”
She officially announced their marriage in an Instagram video in October 2019 that showed matching “Mr. and Mrs.” mugs and black and white baseball caps that had “Bride” and “Groom” written across the front.
